PWI Clients at Southwestern College Honored

Six PWI South Bay clients were honored on December 8 for their efforts in support of the Chula Vista campus of Southwestern College. Clients were recognized by Humberto Peraza, a member of the College Governing Board, Denise Whittaker, interim President and State Senator Juan Vargas, represented by his district director Janine Pairis.
Mark Berger, PWI CEO thanked the College for their support of the two groups who work 20 hours each week doing landscaping and maintenance.
Client Wins Discrimination Case

A former PWI client won a significant judgment against his former employer for discrimination. The client was not allow to have a job coach and was subsequently fired. In addition, the settlement requires the former employer to to make a donation to PWI of $7500.

Qualcomm Staff teams with PWI

On October 21, 2011, a team of five Human Resources professionals participated in a training for PWI Job Development and Vocational Assessment members. PWI has a long history of partnering with Qualcomm, including employment of a PWI group leasing activity, outsourced mailings and employee packets to PWI Contract Services and support from the Qualcomm Foundation. The training was part of Qualcomm’s support of Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Michelle Maybaum, Employee Relations Director, and Heidi Badger-Chrisman, HR Manager organized the training along with Adriane Leader, PWI San Diego Director and CEO Mark Berger.
