PWI is about making dreams come true...

Overcoming these obstacles and bringing together businesses and capable workers is what PWI is all about.
PWI provides job training and placement services for adults with developmental disabilities (i.e., mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, and/or epilepsy) who want to work in the community. Our goal is to provide the individuals we serve the opportunity to reach their potential and realize their dream of community employment. We ensure success by forming solid, ongoing partnerships with supportive and caring businesses. We focus on abilities. Hundreds of employers are coming to realize the tremendous benefits of hiring the workers we proudly represent.
We work with a wide variety of businesses throughout San Diego County. We create employment opportunities for the individuals we serve and meet employers' labor needs. PWI values client direction, personal choice, and active involvement in defining personal career goals. We work with each person individually to meet these goals and maximize abilities.
As a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit agency founded in 1985, PWI serves over 650 individuals annually. We have made great progress, and created countless successful partnerships and are fortunate to be able to be a part of so many success stories. However, our work is not done. More individuals are ready to work - they only need the opportunity to prove their worth.
