Service Objectives
- Assist persons receiving services (a.k.a. clients, consumers, participants,
etc.) in the achievement of their vocational goals.
- Programs/services provided include, but are not limited to: job training,
assessment, placement, and ongoing supports.
- Provide training that develops and enhances interpersonal relations,
independence, self-advocacy, and self-sufficiency.
- Provide varied, interesting and challenging vocational opportunities
based upon the preferences of the client.
- Offer job opportunities that are safe, varied, interesting, and fulfill
the choices of the client all jobs are selected by the individual.
- Support clients by identifying and focusing on individual abilities
and removing barriers to successful employment.
- Utilize a team-based approach and provide outcome-based, comprehensive,
quality vocational services.
- Encourage clients to actively lead their individual program planning
and implementation, and ongoing decision-making.
- Provide clients with the information needed to understand and maximize
career opportunities.
- Provide services that are individually designed, integrated, and
thoughtfully coordinated.
- Create positive, collaborative, and mutually beneficial relationships
with PWIs stakeholders: clients, families, care providers, staff
members, employers, referral agencies, funding sources, etc.
- Provide ongoing education to the community about the abilities of
individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Work proactively with the community to enhance opportunities.
- Learn from persons receiving services: they define PWIs mission,
values and service objectives.
